I didn't blog yesterday because I spent the whole day with my sister.   We had the most wonderful day  of shopping, talking and having a wonderful lunch.   These are the daisies I came home with today.   They're so bright and cheerful.

This is what it looked like at 9:30 this morning.   A fierce snow squall came through our area with almost no visibility at all.   There was a 96 car crash on Hwy. 400 because of the squall.   After that, it was another very cold and windy day.   The snow drift behind the house is growing again.   When will this winter ever end?

I went on the most amazing trip with two of my photography friends today.   We went to Owen Sound, Ontario to photograph their many waterfalls during winter.    This is Indian Falls and it was breathtaking to say the least.   The aqua colour was just out of this world.   We took so many pictures - well, we just couldn't stop ourselves.

Today was actually quite special.   My friend, Rose, and I went to find some birds to photograph.   To our amazement, we found a snowy owl perched high on a telephone pole.   I've never seen one in the wild before!   It sat there for a long time and let us take pictures of it - what a thrill!   It's still freezing cold out today and our fingers and toes froze being outside that long, but it sure was worth it.   Tomorrow the two Roses and I are going to Owen Sound to shoot waterfalls.

We're back to winter today.   No more snow, but super cold temperatures and a wicked wind.   The driveway is a pure slab of ice and I took my life into my hands to go down to the mailbox.   Thank goodness for the lovely flowers inside to brighten things up.   I'm all alone today.  George had to go for a medical appointment and then to work in Toronto.   This is his last week of work.   I'm glad he doesn't have to sit in front of the computer all day any more.   At least he can putter around now.

Today we all got up extra early (for a Sunday) to watch the Canada - Sweden gold medal hockey game.    It's usually too stressful for me to watch such a game, but Canada was clearly the better team and YEAH - we won the gold medal.   What a way to end the Olympics!!!

It was another beautiful, sunny day and it seemed like spring was in the air.   I started reading my new book 'Under the Tuscan Sun', curled up in the bedroom with the sun shining on me.   What could be better!

Today is Saturday and the feeling of spring is in the air (at least I think so).   The snow is slowly starting to melt and is dripping in long icicles off the roof.   Bright sunshine and blue skies are always welcome too, even though it was ridiculously windy.   Our middle son, Justin, and his girlfriend, Ali, came to visit for a couple of hours today.   That was really nice, since we hadn't seen them since Christmas.   Erin went to a fund raising walkathon in Mississauga today and George and I went to Chapters to buy a couple of books.   Now were settling in again to watch the second last day of the Olympics.
